Kahtoola NANOspikes Footwear Traction for Icy Winter Road Running and Walking
Premium
Our verdict
Our pick for running on ice because ten short tungsten carbide spikes per foot sit low and close to the sole, giving bite on glare ice without the tall, clunky feel of a hiking crampon. The harness stays flexible in cold the maker rates down to minus 30 degrees Celsius, and the whole pair is light enough to carry in a pocket. The premium tier buys that low profile, and the short spikes are made for roads and sidewalks rather than steep or deep-snow trails.
